What should we expect from Rovers in the summer?

It is expected to be a busy window for Rovers.

The club currently has just 12 players under contract for next season, although Reece James, Joe Wright, Brad Halliday and Jason Lokilo remain in talks over new deals.

Wellens has identified centre midfield as an immediate priority, with only John Bostock, AJ Greaves and Ed Williams to currently choose from.

In truth, though, Rovers could do with bodies all over the pitch.

They require another goalkeeper to compete with Louis Jones, Branden Horton and Charlie Seaman are currently the only recognised full backs on the books and a bad injury to Wright has left them short of cover at centre back.

Jon Taylor is the only natural winger still under contract and the retirement of James Coppinger and departures of loan players like Taylor Richards and Josh Sims leaves them light on attacking midfielders.

Wellens may also want to bring in his own striker to lead the line and compete with Fejiri Okenabirhie and Omar Bogle.
