Watch the hilarious moment the referee forgets how to count during Doncaster Rovers' win over Oxford United

It is fair to say that referee Sebastian Stockbridge had a moment to forget during Doncaster Rovers’ win over Oxford United – and unfortunately for him it was caught on camera.

Marking out ten yards for a free kick to Oxford in the second half, the Tyne and Wear official appeared to miscount quite significantly, taking only seven steps.

It was something which angered several Oxford players with James Henry taking to mark out the distance himself, while John Mousinho remonstrated with Stockbridge.

The Rovers players appeared to have lined themselves up in a wall in roughly the correct performance and seemed shocked to be handed the ability to move forward a couple of yards to narrow the gap to Oxford’s Tarique Fosu.

Fosu did manage to get the free kick over the wall but sent it over the bar also.
