Darren Moore revealed he is not looking to table deals for any of those who have had short spells at the club in the run up to the festive period.

Those who were invited into the club were mainly looked at to join the development squad.

But the Rovers boss said there would be an expectation for any new signings to be able to step up to senior level if required.

And while admitting some of those who trained with the club and featured for the U23s gave him food for thought, Moore said he is not planning to make offers.

“Not at this moment in time,” he said.

“The 23s presents us with the opportunity to have a look at trialists if the right ones become available.

“It’s difficult for them because at that age you look for them to be of a level to be able to step in.

“If you’re going to bring them in you want them to be able to step in.

“Sometimes it’s difficult because they’re judged at such a high level and where can they take the team to where they want to get to.

“At the moment, it’s been a worthwhile exercise. There’s been one or two come close but we decided against it.”

Tadcaster Albion forward Donald Chimalilo and Buxton’s Kyle Campbell were two players who enjoyed trial spells with Rovers.
