The striker suffered a foot injury during the week and while Butler is awaiting the full diagnosis, he is confident Okenabirhie will be fit to feature on Tuesday.

“He took a slight knock the other day and we think he might have nicked a blood vessel in his foot,” the Rovers boss said.

“His foot has swelled up and he saw the doctor on Saturday.

“I’ll find out over the weekend whether there’s an issue but he should be ready for Tuesday.”

Butler is also awaiting a full prognosis on Jon Taylor’s ankle injury which he suffered in the win over Portsmouth in midweek.

“Jon has got an ankle injury and we’re just waiting on a timescale now,” he said. “He’s got to see the specialist.”

The Rovers boss explained that he substituted midfielder John Bostock at half time on Saturday over fears he might be sent off.

Bostock was booked in the first half and committed another foul just before the break that might have drawn another yellow card, leading Butler to play it safe and send on Scott Robertson for the second half.

He said: “The referee pulled me and told me that was his last one.

“I was just erring on the side of caution.

“He was disappointed but at the same time I knew if he stayed on, due to the physical nature of the game he’d be walking a tightrope.

“It felt like the right decision to make.”
