James was stretchered off on the stroke of half time after a heavy collision with Bolton’s Josh Emmanuel.

It was initially feared that James had suffered a fracture, with his leg strapped up before he was carried off.

While Moore calmed those worries, he did reveal the 26-year-old suffered a significant wound to his leg.

“He sustained a terrible gash to his shin,” he said.

“We don’t know exactly what it is because he’s gone to the hospital.

“It was a terrible gash after a coming together of two players, committed for the ball.

“We hope it’s not a break. I don’t think it is.”
