The forward suffered a concussion and a broken nose in the defeat to Coventry City, ensuring he missed the goalless draw at Sunderland on Saturday.

But he has now progressed through the Football Association’s concussion protocol and, barring any last minute set backs, should be back in the squad for the visit of the Shrimpers.

“He’s trained and we’re very hopeful he will be involved in some capacity,” boss Darren Moore said.

“Again, he’s trained so we have to see what reaction he has.

“He looked fit, he looked sharp.

“On a concussion protocol you’ve got to be very mindful and careful.”

Moore believes Sadlier’s nose will be fine without the added protection of a mask.

“I hope not,” he said when asked if one would be required. “He certainly didn’t today.

“We just wanted him to get some headed contact on the ball.

“But his blood sugar levels will have risen with him training today and we just needed to put him through his paces.

“We’ll see how he responds tomorrow.”

While several members of his side looked to be carrying knocks as they left the field after a physical encounter with Sunderland, Moore says he has no fresh injuries to report among the Rovers squad.

“It should be a clean bill of health as it was on Friday night,” he said.

“They’re all fine.

“It was quite a physical contest and I’m pleased they all came through.”
