Skipper Whiteman picked up the ball just outside the box, turned and fired into the far corner to restore Rovers’ advantage.
But Charlie Banks powered in a header at the back post from a corner to again equalise for Iron.
Anderson secured the win in the dying stages with a fine first time side footed effort from a corner.
