The 26-year-old was due to see his deal expire at the end of the season but has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract at Rovers, committing his future to the summer of 2022.

“It’s a big relief because you know when you’re coming into the final year of your contract you’re wondering where you’re going to be,” Anderson said.

“That’s another reason why I’m very happy to get everything sorted.”

“There’s always a lot to work on and I’ve got a lot to work on myself.

“That will come day by day but you’ve got to just keep your feet on the ground and make sure you work hard.

“Hopefully I’ll get better and if we all work together, it's a team game and we can all get out of League One and into the Championship which we all want to do.

“I think I’ve just got to keep doing what I’m doing.

“I think it’s important that you stay level headed and with your feet on the ground.”
