The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee has thrived during his time at the Keepmoat and says it is not a case of simply looking to the more experienced players for guidance on the first steps of a senior career.

“I don’t want to name names but as a team everyone has done their little bit,” Ennis said.

“We’re a close knit squad.

“Even the U23, everyone, we’ve all kept together and helped each other out when we’ve needed to.

“There are times when you need to moan at each other in the right way. And there are times when you need to put your arm around someone. It’s just about knowing your teammates to know when it’s right to do what.

“You see before games that we all do the high fives and stuff. You don’t do that just to force it.

“It shows that as a team we care and it’s benefiting us.”

Ennis credits boss Darren Moore for fostering positivity among the group.

But he insists it all matters little unless it helps to deliver the right results in games.

“He’s brought a good environment and it’s helping on and off the pitch,” Ennis said.

“Not every team gets on off the pitch but I feel like as a team we do.

“It’s about keeping it positive and getting the results because it’s all right being good off the pitch but we need the positive results as well.”
