Here, we take a look at ten of the best January signings from the last ten years at Doncaster Rovers. Let us know who we might have missed by tweeting @FreePressRovers.
1. Tom Anderson
It probably took 18 months for Rovers to feel the full benefit of this signing but what an acquisition it was. Signed on loan in the midst of a defensive crisis, he fit straight in with his no-nonsense approach. Since signing permanently that summer, he has gone from strength to strength to become one of the most important members of the side. Photo: JPIMedia
2. Andy Butler
Another loan made permanent, Doncaster-born Butler went on to be a tremendous servant for his hometown club. Commanding at centre half through almost five years at the Keepmoat, he was a real leader too. Photo: Marie Caley
3. Kieran Sadlier
Technically this one was done and dusted before January but he couldn’t be registered with Rovers until the transfer window has opened. Sadlier has shown superb attacking quality and creativity since his arrival as well as chipping in with goals. Photo: Marie Caley
4. Alfie May
Snapped up from non-league he proved tremendous value for money in three years at the club. Hard-working and fully committed, he established himself as a league player and contributed plenty in his time. Photo: Scott Merrylees
