Shrewsbury Town 1 v 0 Doncaster Rovers RECAP: Darren Moore's side lose ground on play-offs after second successive defeat
Doncaster Rovers slipped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Shrewsbury Town at a blustery New Meadow on Saturday afternoon.
Rovers were hoping to gain ground on the top six but succumbed to Town skipper Dave Edwards’ 76th minute header as the home side won their first game in League One since December 21. The defeat leaves Darren Moore’s side still in 11th place, but six points behind Fleetwood Town who are in the final play-off berth.

The build up
ROVERS: Darren Moore's side make the trip to Shropshire looking to bounce back from last week's eventful 2-1 reverse at Gillingham. They will be without ex-Town striker Fejiri Okenabirhie after his red card at the Gills, but Moore says central defender Alex Baptiste is in the matchday squad following his long lay-off after sustaining an Achilles injury in just his second game for the club in August. Reece James is still missing after suffering a leg injury in the win over Bolton earlier this month.
SHREWSBURY: The Shrews were thrust into the national spotlight when they held Premier League champions-elect Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in the FA Cup fourth round last month, before bowing out to a youthful Reds side in a replay at Anfield. But Sam Ricketts' side are 10 without a win in the league and will be monitoring injured trio Shaun Whalley, Brad Walker and Josh Vela. Town have taken four points from the last 30 available and are also without a clean sheet during that run.
