Rovers led through Kwame Thomas’ header but the advantage was overturned when Marcus Forss scored from the spot after Donervon Daniels fouled the striker.

And then Callum Reilly finished on the break to hand Wimbledon the win.

Supporters were quick to air their views on social media after the disappointment.

@LeakageGuySi: SHAMBLES! Daniels is a liability! Our lack of goalscorer is our undoing!

@DRFC_ITEN: Rovers now without a win in four games and struggling to find inspiration. January cannot come soon enough, some areas of our play are severely lacking. Darren Moore must face up to the challenges and find the answers. I'm frustrated, I'm certainly concerned by ongoing problems that simply aren't being addressed. But I think it is way, way too early to be saying "Moore out" or that we're in a relegation battle. We look a distinctly flawed, average midtable side at the moment.

@VikingWay_: What a disastrous and yet quite predictable result against a poor team. Absolutely no hope of being near a promotion push because quite simply - we’re not good enough. Let’s play a failed conference striker on left wing though that will sort it.

@Copey17: Relegation form #DRFC Need to pick some points up with these games in hand!

@DRFC_Pete1993: Really want Darren Moore to do well but his decisions are absolutely baffling. I mean think about it starting Daniels when Joe Wright is on the bench is criminal. I don't want to be negative but it's hard to take any positives with how we've performed in recent weeks, the last 3 we're more likely to be relegated than reach the playoffs

@jkwainman: Massive transfer window coming up for Rovers otherwise we could be getting dragged in to a relegation battle. Come on Darren let's see these contacts you've got lad

@MattyDavies98_: At least the messiah Tom Anderson is back next week!

@harrytaylor95: Another frustrating season. Oh well, optimism was nice while it lasted

@Daniel_Nice7: Understandable frustration today but did anyone really think #drfc were going to be a promotion contender this season given all the summer setbacks? Think everything has caught up with us the past few weeks. We’re 4 league games without a win including 2 losses we didn’t deserve. It’s hardly a crisis. We look a mid table team that could still reach the top 6 depending on recruitment

@streathamdave: I really want @DarrenMooro to do well at #drfc as a playing cult hero, but things really need to improve. January looking vital to add creative spark and goals. Not easy, but 'average' is kind at the moment.

@vivarovers: Cannot fathom the anger and vitriol from some #DRFC fans at full-time today. Disappointing outcome but Rovers were not bad; just unfortunate. We’re a good side shirt of a decent forward. This sort of result happens to teams like that. Suck it up, go again.

@FlamencoDave: Another poor result. It needs to be a big January for DM and can't help but think these non league players he looks at/signs just aren't good enough. The last two games against the leagues bottom 4 sides have been woeful and that's being polite. We need to wake up sharpish otherwise this season will pass us by and may be lucky to stay in the league
