Here is how we rated Rovers’ individual performances at Brunton Park. Let us know what you think on Twitter @FreePressRovers.
5. Danny Amos 6
Back in the starting XI and sporting a superb Movember tache effort, he seemed to struggle with the physicality of both Omari Patrick and Josh Kayode at times. But he was always an option going the other way until he was forced off injured early in the second half. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
6. Ben Whiteman 8
He dictated a lot of Rovers’ play from a deep position and found the passes that helped to ease the pressure on the back line. And he was consistently finding space high up the pitch with runs from deep, as he demonstrated with the two goals he took superbly well. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
7. Matt Smith 8
His footwork in tight spaces was excellent in the middle of the park, helping Rovers move the ball quickly during a frenetic first half. He crafted opening for team mates too, including laying on both chances which Whiteman finished. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
8. Josh Sims 7
His pace and direct running off the right caused Carlisle nightmares throughout the game with the hosts struggling to contain him. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
