Dion Charles scored a stoppage time penalty to condemn lacklustre Doncaster Rovers to defeat at the Wham Stadium.

Tyreece John-Jules came off the bench to cancel out another Charles penalty which followed a foul by Joe Wright.

The 76th minute equaliser briefly lifted Rovers’ tempo and John-Jules came close to scoring again.

But goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe spilled a freekick in the last minute and ended up bringing down Sean McConville – allowing Charles to score again from the spot.

The defeat saw Rovers drop to 13th in the table, six points adrift of the play-offs.
