Gomes has been out of action since the defeat to Crewe Alexandra on October 24 with Richards sidelined from the win over Ipswich Town four days prior.

Both midfielders are back in full training with Rovers but Moore has been concerned about the lack of volume of work that they have been able to do at Cantley Park due to the busy period of matches.

He is confident that he will be able to call on the duo to play minutes in Rovers’ two matches in cup competition over the next few days.

Rovers travel to FC United of Manchester on Saturday in the FA Cup before hosts Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s in the final group game of the newly renamed Papa Johns Trophy on Tuesday.

“Those two are now back in and we’re just looking at the volume they’re getting,” Moore said of Gomes and Richards.

“We’re pleased that they’re back in.

“One or both should be available over the next week. Both preferably.

“But we also can’t get too giddy with those two. The extra bodies would be nice in the current situation but I will resist the temptation to put them back in if it would be a risk.

“They will get their gametime in fixtures.”

Loanees Tyreece John-Jules and Rayhaan Tulloch continue to train with parent clubs Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion respectively as they recover from their injuries.
