The EFL have suspended football until at least April 30 due to the coronavirus pandemic, though a further update - and likely an increase on the delay - is expected to come this week following meetings with the Premier League and PFA.

But the delay and public lockdown does not mean a downing of tools for Moore, who will never pass up the opportunity for further work on his squad.

“The work will continue,” he said. “Even in the situation that we find ourselves in now, the work will continue.

“I’ll keep working and looking at things.

People will say ‘what is there to work towards Darren?’ There’s loads of things to work towards.

“There’s things that you can cement even further.

“Potentially, this could be like a mini-pre-season where you can really work on stuff as a group again and really solidify stuff as a group.

“Sometimes you can look at the cup being half full or half empty - it’s definitely half full.

“We’re definitely disappointed that the league programme has shut down, but you have to look in that time of shut down what you can get hold of, what can you make better, what do you need to make better.

“We can analyse as a group of staff the season so far, looking at the games remaining, if they are to be played.

“There’s loads of work to be done so make sure the mind stays set, engaged and ready so if anything should happen, you’re ready to be adaptable to it.”
