Rovers are still hunting for their first ever league win over Sunderland but the last two meetings between the sides have ended in draws.

The Black Cats have been progressing steadily since Lee Johnson took charge of the side before Christmas but they still have ground to make up if they are to join the automatic promotion race along with Rovers.

Ahead of the trip to Wearside, our Rovers writer Liam Hoden was joined by Mark Donnelly of the Sunderland Echo to get the lowdown on Sunderland and how they are faring on their latest attempt to get out of League One.
