Talented teenage footballer Ashleigh Mills lifted a prestigious accolade at this year’s Doncaster Free Press Sports Awards.
Doncaster Rovers Belles’ midfield starlet was part of a strong field of nominees for the Junior Sports Personality of the Year Award which included freestyle skier Haydyn Fiori and decathlete Liam Ramsay.
The evening, hosted by Free Press sports writer Paul Goodwin, threw up several memorable stories and tales of achievement during the sixth annual event.

Onto award-winner ASHLEIGH MILLS.
She is the new kid on the block at the Belles.
After making her first team debut aged just 16, the tenacious midfielder quickly made herself at home in the FA Women’s Super League and earned a call-up to England Under-19s’ training camp.
Mills also scored five goals in three games to help Balby Academy reach the Premier Cup final and will be representing the side in the National Play-Offs final at Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium next week.
She was also part of the team that retained the English Schools FA Trophy.
