Third-placed Rossington Main kept their Doncaster Rovers Senior League Open Division title hopes alive.

Beaten just once this season, Main romped to a 9-3 win at lowly Denaby United Academy with Dean Thornton claiming four of their goals.

Beb Clark bagged a brace with Scott Locker, Adam Rowland and Joshua Skill also chipping in. Regan Kelly, Connor Pratt and Alun Walters shared the United consolation goals.

Adam Baskerville also claimed four goals as unbeaten Sutton Rovers also kept the pressure on leaders Kinsley Boys with an 8-0 win at mid-table Brodsworth Welfare. Ryan Walker 2, Adrian Parker and Darren Smith completed the scoring.

Askern climbed above Denaby following their 5-3 win at Armthorpe Markham Main.

Corey Taylor hit a double for the winners with Simon Squire, Ben Hodgson and Gracjan Klimczak also finding the net. Tim Hart, Daniel McNeil and Matty Willshaw replied for Main.

South Emsall United Services boosted their hopes of playing in the top division when the league splits into two in January, after dishing out an 8-2 beating to Bridon AFC, for whom Jake Smith and Jack West netted.

Mark Lynch and Phil Land both notched a hat trick for the winners with Adrian Parker and Darren Smith also getting in on the act.

Doncaster Town failed to build on their first point of the season when slumping to an 8-1 defeat at home to fourth-placed FC Graceholme.

Robert Wilson led the way for Graceholme with a four-goal haul and Daniel White lent good support with a hat trick. Paul Hird completed the scoring.

Bottom club Balby Recreation are still looking to get off the mark after Dunsroft United’s 8-3 win condemned them to a 14th successive defeat.
