Doncaster Senior League: Five star Rovers surge to Premier Division summit

Sutton Rovers picked up their third win in as many starts to claim top spot in the Doncaster Senior League Premier Division.

They posted a 5-1 win at point-less Doncaster Deaf Trust who continue to prop up the table.

Thomas Doherty, Mitchell Wain, Luke Chambers, Jack Kirk and Callum Stockton all netted for the visitors with Jordan Marsden scoring the consolation goal for the Deaf Trust.

Frickley Academy climbed into second place thanks to a 3-1 derby win at South Elmsall United Services.

Bradley Dockerty bagged a brace for the winners with Allan Howcroft completing the scoring.

Yorkshire Main picked up their second win in three starts, pipping Kinsley Boys by the odd goal in three.

Daniel Bell and Terrence Kelly were the Main marksmen with Gareth Newitt netting the Kinsley reply.

Dunscroft United continue to set the pace at the top of Division One after inflicting an 8-4 defeat on Bawtry Town, who now find themselves propping up the table.

Daniel Smith led the way with a hat trick with Jamie Hindson chipping in with a brace.

Billy Kirkham, Ethan Hedley and Richard Sands also helped seal Town’s fate.

Denaby United Reserves had to settle for a Sam Turner consolation in their 4-1 defeat at home to Harworth, for whom Mick Wibberly (2), Lea Jones and Lee Penders netted.

Torran Adams and Ryan Walker shared the goals in Scawthorpe Scorpions’ 4-3 win at South Kirkby Colliery which saw them move up to second.
