Doncaster Rovers Senior League: Rossington Main keep pressure on Sutton Rovers

Rossington Main kept their outside hopes of claiming the Doncaster Rovers Senior League Open Division alive.

Third-placed Main need to win both remaining games and for Sutton Rovers to lose their remaining game to pip the leaders for top spot.

Dean Thornton grabbed a double for Main with Adam Rowland, Daniel Read, Daniel Lodge and Joshua Bathgate also netting in their 6-0 win over Hemsworth Elite.

Doncaster Deaf Trust boosted their hopes of a top-eight finish with a 3-2 midweek win at Yorkshire Main, but now need to win their final game and hope other results go their way following their 5-1 defeat at home to Armthorpe Markham Main.

Ashley McNeil hit a double for the visitors with Daniel McNeil, Matty Willshaw and Nathan Booth also finding the net. Aaron Ormerod was the Deaf marksman.

Goals by Tom McGilveray and Nathan Shepard secured second-bottom Doncaster Town their first win (2-0) away at Balby Recreation who ended the campaign pointless.

South Elmsall United Services had to settle for a Mark Lynch consolation in a 2-1 defeat at Dunscroft.
