A quick-fire double from substitute Laura Green helped Doncaster Belles under-18s to a comprehensive victory over Dronfield Town Blacks, writes Chris Wright.
Despite making the trip without central defender Helen Herrick or midfielder Jess Lacey, the Belles proved too strong for their opponents - restricting them to two shots on target all game - as Doncaster ran out 4-0 victors.
Dronfield’s ‘keeper showed that she had an abundance of ability as she kept the home team level until the 15th minute when Amy Booth headed a Danni Thompson corner towards goal for Lori Hudson to flick it on for the opener.
The second and third goals came in a blur as Green burst out of the blocks in the 34th minute and fired in a stunning four-minute brace.
The first came from close range following a Megan Gower assist before Green converted the second after good work from Holly Housley.
Although restricted to efforts on target, Dronfield enjoyed a share of possession in midfield and the Belles had to wait until the 86th minute for their fourth goal - a sublime 25-yard strike from the in-form Booth.
Next up for the second-placed Belles is a trip to rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
