New teams apply to join Senior League

FOUR new teams have applied to join the Doncaster Senior League next season.

Shafton Villa, Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos, M25 and Denaby United have put forward their applications to join.

They will be discussed at the league’s AGM at the Yorkshire Main club, in Edlington, on Wednesday, June 8 (7pm).

Premier Division champions AFC Sportsman Rovers rounded off their campaing with a thrilling 5-5 draw at Kinsley Boys.

Paul Hemmingway got a hat trick for Rovers, Matthew Tolley and Philip Whitehead also scoring.

Boys responded through Joshua Appleton, Adam Cameron, Luke Chestney, Tom Clarke and Liam Radford.

Adwick Park Rangers A beat Doncaster Deaf 3-0.

Rangers’ goals came from Scott Exley, Ryan Chesters and Luke Guest.

There was a 3-1 victory at Yorkshire Main for Swinton Station Athletic.

Lee Nash, Alex Burton and Shawn Mitchell found the net for Swinton.

Lee Hinchcliffe replied for Main.

Craig Hobson scored six goals for Travellers FC in their 11-4 triumph over Adwick Park Rangers B in Division One.

Hobson’s double hat trick took his tally for the season to 71.

Dave Sharp also claimed a hat trick for the Kirkby side and Robert Pettit found the net.

Goalkeeper Jason France, who moved up front in the last ten minutes, sealed it with a 30-yard drive.

Hatfield Main, the league’s top scorers with 118 goals, were held to a goalless draw by FC Tavern.
