TROUBLED Northern Counties East League side Askern Villa are holding emergency talks this week regarding its immediate future, writes Paul Webster.
Villa failed to fulfil a fixture for the second time in ten days on Saturday when the club were forced to postpone their scheduled home league game against Albion Sports due to injuries, suspension and a lack of player availability.
The Division One outfit were also forced to pull out of their West Riding County Cup tie at Silsden on Wednesday, October 3, after being unable to raise a team.
The club are almost sure to be hit with fines by both the WRCFA and the Baris Northern Counties League.
It is uncertain whether Askern will be able to raise a team for tomorrow night’s scheduled visit of AFC Emley.
