Sunderland arrive at the Keepmoat with powerful striker Charlie Wyke in good form, having netted seven goals so far this season.
A strong, 6ft2 striker with an eye for goal could worry some defences but Wright is confident the understanding between the Rovers back line stands them in good stead for any test.

“When you’ve got a good understanding, like me and Tom [Anderson] do, I don’t think there’s a certain type of forward we come up against that I think I’d rather play against this or I’d rather be against that.
“It’s about having the understanding, not just with your centre half but with your full back as well.
“If you get that understanding and that solid base, you can deal with all different types of forward.

“The good thing about this league is that there are a variety of forwards that you come up against.
“It’s not like you’re up against a big target man every week, or little nippy forwards.
“There is that variation in games and it can often change.
“You just have to be on your toes and deal with whatever you come up against.”

Hide AdClashes between Rovers and Sunderland have been tight since the Black Cats’ relegation to League One and boss Darren Moore is expecting a similar test this weekend.
“It’ll be another tight affair,” he said. “Another one again where we know we’re going to have to be on the top of our game.
“They’re a good team, a solid team, they’re a strong team in the division.
“They’ve got depth to the squad, wealth and experience to the squad.
