Friday’s match (12.30) will be broadcast around the world on Sky Sports.

And quick-thinking Rovers supporter Beth Windle has set up a GoFundMe page to try and get the fans’ message across to James Coppinger in an ingenious way.

‘One more year’ has been a popular phrase on social media as Coppinger comes to the end of his final season at Rovers, with fans hoping the 40-year-old can still be persuaded into playing on.

The fund, which you can find HERE, has to raise £500 by tomorrow to make the plan become a reality.

Donations of £245 have been received at the time of writing.

The page states: "1 more year Copps!! We would like to use the LED advertising boards available for Friday’s game against Charlton to get our light hearted message across and ask James Coppinger to reconsider retirement after a season where fans have been unable to attend games and are unable to give him the send off he fully deserves after the years he's given to our club."
