This will be the first time Italy will have played outside of Rome so it remains to be seen whether that will have any effect.

After a perfect first round Italy are strong favourites at 9/20 with Austria at 7/1. Italy are 1/5 to qualify for the quarter-finals with Austria 10/3 to overcome the Azzurri in any way.

Ciro Immobile was on a hot streak until he was rested by Roberto Mancini for the final group game against Wales. Immobile had two goals in two games and is 6/5 to score anytime. Marko Aranutovic was preferred to Sasa Kalajdzic in Austria’s last match and the former West Ham man should get the nod again priced at 15/4 in the same market.

Italy have moved up to 6/1 to win the tournament and while they started the competition behind England, Portugal and Belgium, they’re now ahead of all those nations. Austria are the bookies’ outsiders placed as the least likely to win the Euros at 150/1.

Best bets: Italy are the side who have been involved in the highest number of penalty shootouts in Euros history. They have won two and lost three and are 12/1 to even that record up and get through via 12 yards.

Italy have also been imperious in defence with three clean sheets and are 4/5 to achieve this once again.
