Speaking after the on-loan Gunners striker grabbed his first goal for Rovers in the 3-1 win at Charlton Athletic, Clarke tipped John-Jules to score plenty this season.

“He’s a very talented boy and I think he’s at the right club,” Clarke told the Totally Football League Show podcast.

“They’re a pretty vibrant team, they’re attack minded Doncaster.

“There’s a very good unit behind him in Ben Whiteman and Madger Gomes and ahead of them Taylor Richards who is also on loan. He’s got good footballers around him to supply the ammunition.

“I can see John-Jules kicking on from that performance at The Valley and getting quite a few goals for Donny over the next few months.

“What a goal it was from him too. A real bit of twinkle toes inside the box, a great little finish and a great way to get off the mark in Donny colours.”

Having garnered plenty of praise at his parent club, John-Jules must make an impact during his loan with Rovers, according to Clarke.

“This is a big loan for Tyreece,” he said.

“He’s been involved in the first team during pre-season and scored goals actually. He looks as if he can handle himself.

“He went away to Lincoln last season and scored one in seven appearances so he did okay but nothing major. And then he got injured.

“This is his opportunity with Doncaster to really make a big impression.

“He’s still only 19 so there is time on his side.”
