And the chief executive is confident that the club will have no problems attracting the brightest young prospects to the club for next season.

Rovers ended the last campaign with six loan players, all of whom impressed during their time with the club.

Baldwin believes that history shows clubs that have enjoyed success in League One have done so with loan signings on their books - and feels Rovers need to stick with that approach.

“I’ve done the research looking at clubs that have been promoted and most of them have four or five loan players,” he said.

“It gives you that quality that you might not otherwise have. So if we are serious about getting into the top six, it is something we need to look at.

“Complementing what we have, of course.”

Baldwin says that the improvement of Rovers’ latest crop of loan players has not gone unnoticed by their parent clubs or others in the higher divisions.

And he believes that the opportunity of working with boss Darren Moore is seen as a major plus point for players young and more experienced, which should greatly aid the latest recruitment drive at Rovers.

“I cannot emphasise enough, how much clubs have been eager to tell us how pleased they are with how we’ve developed their players,” he said.

“It makes conversations in the future easier because they want to give us their players to get them going.

“I know they are not necessarily our contracted players going forward but we can have clauses where we get first call on them should they be released.

“There is comfort is loan deals. But it’s not all about loan players.

“The style of play that Darren wants attracts experienced players as well.

“And in League One, the name of Darren Moore means if someone is going to play in the division, hopefully we’re one of the first clubs they will look at.”
