Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Moore met a question about if he was close to making further additions to his squad with a simple gesture.

Raising both hands, he crossed his fingers and gave his trademark big, beaming smile.

Moore had already got his first January signing through the door with striker Devante Cole snapped up from Wigan Athletic.

But with a major box ticked in his January business, and despite a noticeably lighter mood than in recent weeks, the Rovers manager remained reluctant to give too much away about how he sees the rest of the week progressing with the Friday’s deadline approaching.

“The window is still open so we’re still very much active and we’ll continue,” he said, when asked about his intentions.

“We’ve got one target in and we’ll try to move towards the next one.”

Moore was similarly tight-lipped on the areas he is looking to add to, but said that he is keen to add more depth to his squad if possible.

“It’s all over for me,” he said of specific positions.

“We’ve got opportunities like everyone else with what’s been thrown our way.

“I don’t know why it’s left but this is the week where the activity usually goes in a melee. I don’t know why it is.

“We’ll continue to do our work to get the right personnel in here.

“We feel that we want to add a bit more depth to the squad for the second half of the season. We’re working hard towards that.”
