Sean O’Driscoll was hoping the international break would lead to an improvement in Doncaster Rovers’ horrendous injury situation.
But he has now discovered that another key player has been added to the list of those out for the rest of the season.
Midfield ace Martin Woods, who seemed close to a return last week after a stop-start season ruined by injuries, now needs another operation to remedy hip and groin problems and will be out of action for a couple of months.
O’Driscoll said: “It effectively rules him out for the rest of the campaign and that’s very disappointing for Martin and the club.
“He’s been pushing for a return but kept breaking down just when he was looking great and really fit in training.
