VIDEO: Ferguson's pride in defeat to Stoke for Rovers

Darren Ferguson was pleased with the performance of his Doncaster Rovers side in defeat to Premier League Stoke City in the FA Cup.

Rovers - who had equalised through Nathan Tyson - pushed Stoke all the way, missing two excellent chances in injury time to earn a draw.

But goals from Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters proved enough to send the Potters through.

"It was a proper cup tie," Ferguson said. "I don't think many people left before the end.

"We took it right to the wire and had two great chances at the end. I can't work out how Andy Butler has not scored.

"That's the cup. But the performance was good.
