ROVERS could be without 15 goal striker Billy Sharp for Saturday’s trip to Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.
The 25-year-old will likely require a hernia operation before the season is out and is doubtful for the clash at Elland Road after playing 75 minutes at Derby on Tuesday night, where he added two goals to his impressive tally.
Almost certain to miss out is loanee Jason Euell who was a late withdrawal from the Derby trip with a knee problem.
Boss Sean O’Driscoll may be forced to rush back James Hayter, James Coppinger and Ryan Mason to boost his heavily depleted ranks.
The trio have not had the steady return to action O’Driscoll would have liked, but have all trained on grass this week, putting them in line for an early recall.
Mustapha Dumbuya and Shelton Martis are also close to a return but are unlikely to be ready for the trip to Leeds.
The Whites will welcome back midfielder Bradley Johnson following suspension but Lloyd Sam is struggling with a virus and full back Paul Connolly remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
