Rob Jones hopes practice will maintain Doncaster’s perfect away record this weekend when they face League One high fliers Bristol City.

Rovers hit the road again on the back of four straight away wins - at Yeovil, York, Colchester and Watford.

But the reliant Robins - who remain unbeaten in the league - will provide a stern test as Rovers return to action following the international break.

Jones said: “If you take out the two home defeats, we had a good month - especially on the road.

“I think given the manner of the goals we conceded against Oldham before the international break, we’d have preferred to play last weekend.

“But on the back of that we’ve had two solid weeks on the training ground and we’ve put a lot of work in.

“Our fitness levels are up and we’ve worked on things that were a little slack at times, so we’re looking forward to putting that into practice this weekend.

“It’ll be a difficult one. They’re flying at the moment,” he added.

“But, as I keep saying to everyone, there’s an awful long way to go.

“It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.”

Meanwhile, Jones again met up with his surgeon this week following his early-season injury scare.

“He’s given me the green light to go on for as long as I can,” said Jones.

“It was a bit scary with the bash that I took but I had some X-rays done on Monday and they came back all-clear.

“Now it’s just a case of getting on with it.”
