ROVERS’ much-anticipated reunion with former boss Sean O’Driscoll is all set for Tuesday.

And the game could hardly have more resting on it.

O’Driscoll masterminded so much of Rovers’ recent success and now is charged with helping do the same for one of their rivals in the battle against the drop.

There was a sense of surprise when he was announced as the newest member of Nottingham Forest’s coaching staff back in January – though Rovers fans are well aware of his proficiency with all things tactical.

How much of an influence O’Driscoll has had on Steve Cotterill’s Forest is not particularly clear but confidence in the side has increased since his arrival.

Forest played with a great deal of confidence against Birmingham last weekend and were worthy of their 2-1 win – the Blues’ only home defeat in the Championship this season.

The victory marked only the second time this season Forest have recorded back-to-back wins, after a vital 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Coventry – results which took them out of the drop zone.

In both games Forest’s link-up play has been very good, something which has seen Wolves loanee Adiene Guedioura come to prominence.

Looking at the squad Forest boasts, it appears confidence and organisation are the only things needed to get them moving up the table.

But although they are now out of the relegation zone, there is still an awfully long way to go.

No side in the Championship has a worse record at home or have lost as many games in total.

The nine strikers who have been on Forest’s books this season have managed 13 goals between them.

O’Driscoll still has a lot of work to do on the training ground.
