Doncaster Rovers say they are expecting a crowd in excess of 12,000 for Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated FA Cup third round tie with Stoke City.
A combination of cup fever, reduced prices and Rovers’ upturn in form have seen a surge in ticket sales - with the South Stand and East Stand close to selling out.
Stoke, currently sat 10th in the Premier League, had also sold just shy of 4,000 of their 4,200 allocation on Monday evening.
Rovers’ highest attendance this season is 9,033 for the visit of Barnsley.
The average attendance this season stands at just over 6,000.
This weekend’s tie is the first time Rovers have hosted Premier League opposition since 2011, when they drew 2-2 with Wolves in the FA Cup third round before losing 5-0 in a replay.
Rovers are advising people to buy tickets online via their website or by calling the ticket office on 01302 762576.
Tickets are priced as follows: adults £15, seniors £10, 17-21 £8, 12-16 £5, 11 and under £1.
