Paul Dickov feels his side are ready to go on a run - just in time for tonight’s “massive” game with Charlton.

Rovers could move four points clear of the drop zone by beating the Addicks, and Dickov was in no mood to downplay the importance of this evening’s game when he spoke to the press yesterday.

“It’s a massive game, there’s no dressing it up,” said the Scot. “It’s one we need to win.

“We feel we’re on the cusp of going on a run. We’ve had two different displays in the last two games, but both were equally pleasing for different reasons.

“It’s vital we go out against Charlton and repeat the Wigan performance.”

Tonight’s game is the start of a huge six weeks in Rovers’ season. Six out of the next eight games are against sides in the bottom half of the Championship.

“We’ve got a lot of games coming up in a short space of time,” said Dickov.

“We’ve picked up four points from the last two games and if we can keep that going we’ll soon put a bit of breathing space between us and the teams below us.

“At the same time we’ve also got to be mindful that if we don’t pick up points, we’ll get dragged back into it again.

“It’s a big boost to be out of the bottom three,” he added.

“It lets the teams below us know they’ve got a battle on their hands.

“And if we can pick up results in the next few games it doens’t just create a bit of space between us at the bottom but it drags other teams into it. The more teams that are down there, the better for us.”

Chris Brown (foot) and Harry Forrester (ankle) are both rated 50/50 for tonight.

Charlton are likely to welcome back Yann Kermorgant after the striker was rested for the Addicks’ 1-0 FA Cup win at Huddersfield.
