Doncaster Rovers have signed Sheffield United defender Craig Alcock on a 28-day loan
Alcock has not featured for the Blades since they met Rovers at Bramall Lane on September 26.
He suffered injured ribs in the incident which saw Gary MacKenzie sent off for Rovers. His recovery has taken longer than initially anticipated and he will now continue that with Rovers.
On his return to fitness, Alcock has been unable to unseat on-form Kieran Wallace in the Blades defence.
Alcock can play across the back four, adding much-needed versatility to Rovers' defensive ranks.
The switch reunites the 27-year-old with Rovers boss Darren Ferguson, who signed him for Peterborough United in 2011.
Ferguson was keen to keep Alcock at London Road but he rejected the offer of a new contract to join the Blades in the summer of 2014.
Alcock will wear shirt number 38 during his stay at the Keepmoat, which is set to expire on December 7.
