Mark Duffy looks set to join Rovers after the club agreed a transfer fee with Scunthorpe.

Scunthorpe United say they have agreed a deal with Rovers for the transfer of Mark Duffy.

Rovers previously had two bids turned down for the winger but are thought to still hold an interest in signing him.

And Scunthorpe chairman Peter Swann said on Monday night an agreement had been reached.

Swann also said initial discussions between Rovers and Duffy have already taken place with a finalised deal said to be imminent.

He said: “Moving to Doncaster was what Mark wanted and so we did what we could to make it happen.

“I believe he’s already held some form of talks with the club and so it was just about an agreement being reached between the two clubs.”

The likes of Harry Forrester and Dean Furman could both feature for Rovers in tonight’s friendly at Frickley Athletic with both said to be close to agreeing terms.

The Star understands Forrester has been in training with Rovers since late last week when previous club Brentford granted him permission to head north.

And it is understood Furman reported to Cantley Park for training yesterday while discussions continued over a permanent deal for the midfielder.

Dickov has a target of fielding two difference XIs in each half at Westfield Lane tonight, despite having only a handful of players contracted to the club.

Dickov told the Star he would field those players who have yet to sign new deals and would possibly make up numbers with trialists.

“I want to field two different teams on Tuesday night to give all the lads a chance of some game time,” he said.

“There might be a couple of trialists and the out of contract lads are likely to play.

“There’s no problem with sticking them in.

“It’ll be a good early test for the lads after what’s been a positive start to pre-season.

“The lads worked really hard during that first week and it was enjoyable.”

Kick off at Evo-Stik Premier Division side Frickley is 7.30pm tonight.
