Reece Wabara admits the presence of the television cameras can weigh on players’ minds.
Rovers’ squad need no reminding of the importance of Friday night’s televised visit of Championship basement side Yeovil Town.
But, according to the on-loan Manchester City defender, the stakes are higher than normal when Sky Sports come to town.
“I guess it does [add extra pressure to perform],” said Wabara.
“It shouldn’t, but maybe it does. It sticks in players’ minds, knowing that mistakes are seen live on television.
“Players might take a bit more care when it’s on television and are more cautious in their approach.
“Ultimately we have to go out there and do what we do best and get the right result.”
Wabara’s honest assessment comes just a few weeks on from Doncaster’s horrendous last live television appearance, the 4-0 horror show at Middlesbrough.
And the 21-year-old full back hopes Rovers put on a better show this time around.
“Hopefully we can get some control in the game and show everyone what we’re about,” he said.
“I don’t think we approach it any differently. Every game in the Championship is difficult and they are fighting just like we are.”
Rovers’ latest fans forum takes place at Intake Social Club tonight (7.30pm).
