With so much at stake on Saturday, any sort of advantage is absolutely crucial. Cue the mind games.

And Brentford boss Uwe Rosler has not been backward in coming forward this week in attempt to pile the pressure on Doncaster Rovers, while at the same time insisting his team are underdogs.

Whereas Rovers have somewhat stuttered over the finish line, losing three of their last six games, Brentford have finished with a flourish, losing just one of their last nine.

And Rosler has been doing plenty of talking in the press in the build-up to this weekend’s ‘winner takes all’ contest.

Rosler said: “They have been leading the league for months, and according to their manager they are the best team in the division.

“They had a chance last weekend and didn’t take it, so now they’ve given us an opportunity.

“It’s a final for us, but we are the challengers, the underdogs.

“We have overcome so many obstacles this season to finish in the top six, which is the first target we had.

“We’ve had to deal with injuries and suspensions to key players at important times, but we’ve coped with the pressure.”

Brentford’s German boss is predicting a close contest on Saturday.

“We have the best home record in the division, which is an achievement in itself,” said Rosler.

“We’re full of confidence and going out with the mindset to attack them.

“There’s not much between the teams and I don’t think it will be a high-scoring game.

“We have shown this season we will fight until the last whistle.”
