Rovers have been relegated from the Championship after a cruel late twist in the survival race.

An injury time equaliser for Birmingham at Bolton was enough to life them out of the bottom three and send Rovers down to League One on goal difference after they lost 1-0 at champions Leicester.

It all appeared to be going so well for Rovers when Bolton took a 1-0 lead against the Blues.

And even when Rovers fell a goal down at Leicester courtesy of a David Nugent penalty, nerves were hardly able to set in as Bolton doubled their lead.

But Birmingham roared back, grabbing a 78th minute strike through Nicola Zigic before Paul Caddis struck the equaliser deep into six minutes of added time.
