TOMMY Spurr has been unveiled as Doncaster Rovers’ first signing of the summer.
The 23-year-old full back said it was a “no-brainer” to leave Sheffield Wednesday and sign a two-year deal at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Spurr underwent a medical on Tuesday afternoon after Rovers agreed a fee thought to be in the region of £200,000 with Sheffield Wednesday for the defender.
Spurr said: “When I knew Doncaster were interested, I was more than delighted to speak to them and over the moon to sign, as I knew Wednesday were not wanting to keep me.
“When I spoke to Sean, he made me feel like he wanted me to come and play for him.
“The decision to sign was a no-brainer, especially with Rovers being a Championship club, as you always want to play at the highest level you can.”
