Luke McCullough and Reece Wabara have both been offered new contracts, Paul Dickov has revealed.
The contract of full back Wabara expires on December 31 but he is currently mulling over new terms.
And Rovers are looking to extend McCullough’s deal beyond the end of the season.
“Luke deserves it,” Dickov told the Star.
“He’s only 20, he’s already got international recognition.
“He’s played every game he’s been available for us and he’s come on leaps and bounds.
“On Saturday against Swindon he was excellent against two of the top strikers in the division in Williams and Obika.
“Luke and Reece were offered contracts last week.
“We decided with the games we’ve got coming up, rather than it hanging over everybody, we wanted it sorted as quickly as we can.
“It’s important we concentrate on the games that are coming up.
“But from the conversations we’ve had, we’re confident it will all be sorted quickly.”
Rovers have begun talks with Sheffield United over the future of on loan defender Andy Butler.
The centre half is set to return to the Blades in January but Rovers are keen to keep the Doncaster-born player and Dickov says he is confident that will happen.
Talks have also been held with Manchester United and Aston Villa about extending the respective loans of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and defender Enda Stevens.
