Former Rovers midfielder Martin Woods has rejoined the club until January, he has announced.
Woods – who has been training with Rovers for the past month – took to social networking site Instagram to announce his return.
He wrote: “Signed back with donny again till jan delighted to be back now I’m fit and feeling like my old self after this nitemare time over the last 2 years!!have unfinished business here and can’t wait to get in amongst it again with the lads.”
No deal has officially been confirmed by the club.
The Free Press understands Woods’ signing does not mean Paul Dickov’s search for reinforcements has been completed.
Woods was released by Rovers at the end of last summer after six years with the club.
A persistent groin injury hampered Woods’ later years at the club, at one point restricting him to just a single appearance in a 14 month spell.
He has had trials with Bristol City and St Johnstone since his release but has been unable to secure a contract.
