The odds on Lee Clark becoming the next manager of Doncaster Rovers have tumbled overnight, with the former Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City and Blackpool boss now joint-favourite with some bookmakers for the post.
Clark’s odds have been slashed from 33/1 to 2/1 by Sky Bet.
With Bet Victor the Geordie was backed into odds-on favourite but has now eased out to 6/4 – joint-favourite with Darren Ferguson.
Former Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham midfielder Clark resigned as Blackpool boss earlier this year following their relegation from the Championship.
He was in charge of Birmingham when they survived relegation from the second tier at the expense of Rovers on the final day of the 2013/14 season.
Clark’s first job in management at Huddersfield saw him guide the Terriers to the League One play-off final and also embark on a Football League record 43-game unbeaten run.
Rovers confirmed on Friday that they have drawn up their shortlist and hope to make an appointment before their next league game, at home to Bradford City on October 17.
