FIVE trialists will be handed another chance to impress Sean O’Driscoll when Rovers play their second pre-season friendly at Barrow AFC on Saturday.

Rowan Vine, Rachid Bouhenna, Ellis Deeney, Kevin McDonald and teenage centre half Oscar Radford were included in the Doncaster squad that departed for Cumbria on Tuesday morning.

Rovers’ players will spend four days at a training camp in Eskdale where they will be put through their paces in various team-building exercises.

O’Driscoll said: “Rowan needs a pre-season behind him and he came here with QPR’s blessing.

“He’s looked okay. It’s down to the boy what he wants to do but we’ll keep him here and see what our options are.

“Kevin’s someone who lost his way a bit but he’s technically sound and has good stature.

“We still need cover at left back so we’ve kept Ellis on, while Rachid is someone who we’ll have a good look at over the next week or so.

“Oscar is a young local lad who we might be able to develop - he’s not ready for the first team.”

Billy Sharp was due to travel to Cumbria on Friday after spending the week doing gym and fitness work at Cantley Park.
