Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of versatile forward Dany N’Guessan on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old becomes Paul Dickov’s sixth signing of the summer and is seen as the last major piece of his squad jigsaw this summer.

N’Guessan can play on either flank or behind the strikers and adds much-needed versatility to the Rovers squad.

He left AE Larisa this summer after finishing the season with the Greek club following his departure from Port Vale by mutual consent in February. N’Guessan’s deal with the Valiant allowed him to leave the club if he received a more lucrative offer from elsewhere.

He was snapped up as a teenager by Rangers in 2005 but never made a senior appearance and joined Lincoln City before being signed by Leicester City.

Loan moves to Scunthorpe United, Southampton and Millwall followed before he joined the Lions on a permanent deal.

N’Guessan made a loan switch to Charlton Athletic before joining Swindon Town, scoring eight goals in 24 league outings.

The Frenchman has made more than 230 Football League appearances including 64 in the Championship and has netted 50 goals in England.
