Rovers are set to play the waiting game for their opponents for the second round of the FA Cup.
Last night’s draw handed them a home tie against either Northampton Town or Scunthorpe United, who will replay their first round match next week.
The two League One sides battled out a goalless draw at the weekend and will face off again at Glanford Park next Tuesday.
Should Scunthorpe advance, they will set up a third meeting with Rovers inside the first four months of the season.
In league action, Scunthorpe triumphed 1-0 at the Keepmoat in September while Rovers claimed a penalty shootout win in the Checkatrade Trophy last week.
Rovers were beaten at Northampton in September after conceding with just 24 seconds on the clock.
Boss Darren Ferguson was desperate for Rovers to drawn at home in the second round following their 6-2 win at Ebbsfleet United.
The second round ties will be played on the weekend of December 1.
