Enda Stevens does not believe his stay at Rovers will be made a permanent one, despite admitting he has no future at parent club Aston Villa.

The loan deal for the Irish full back expires following Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Bristol City.

And while Stevens says he would like to remain at the Keepmoat, he expects it to be another loan deal.

“We’ll be looking at a loan, for the rest of the season hopefully,” Stevens told the Star.

The 24-year-old admits he has not spoken to Aston Villa about his future and is happy to be out playing.

He said: “I don’t really see myself having a future at Aston Villa.

“I’m in the last year of my deal. I’m here to play games and play well, and hopefully something will come of it.”

Rovers boss Paul Dickov is confident of holding onto Stevens.
